Local food and beverage pros earn “Rising Chef” honors from Star Chefs

November 21, 2014 by Amy Langrehr

After visiting more than 125 chefs and artisans in Maryland, Virginia and D.C., StarChefs.com announced their 2014 list of the area’s culinary rising stars. The restaurant industry magazine awards honor chefs and other culinary professionals and several Maryland area folks made the list.

To celebrate, StarChefs is throwing a Rising Stars Gala on Tuesday, December 16 at Dock 5 at Union Market, with an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and a tasting gala from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For $95 general admission, try 20 dishes, 20 beverage pairings, and 2 signature cocktails from the awardees. The $125 VIP tickets also include a private reception with champagne and Petrossian caviar. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to DC Central Kitchen. Tickets are available here.

I love seeing some of my most favorite people and places on this list. These folks – as well as so many others in food & beverage – work so hard. Hopefully, getting a little recognition is nice fuel for those long, long days. I’m in awe – you are doing what you love. Thank you and congratulations!
