Spring Has Sprung At Area Farmers Markets

April 8, 2015 by Amy Langrehr

Spring. It gives you a feeling of hopefulness, no? Me, I’m hopeful for asparagus. And peas. And oh yeah, rhubarb! (And tulips, peonies, hydrangeas…) The JFX farmers market opened last Sunday, daffodils are out and the winter coat has been moved to the back of the closet. Thank GOD.

At the market soon, you will see asparagus, ramps, fiddlehead ferns, rhubarb and more. So, this post is a super simple one: a few of my favorite spring recipes. (Yes, a cocktail counts.)

If you make these once, they will be in the rotation. Promise.

Fresh Pea Soup

Asparagus Tart

Spring Risotto

Gibson with Pickled Ramps

Fiddlehead Pasta

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

Rhubarb Compote
