Well, this week was an exciting one. I’ve been making my salted caramel brownies for about two years now and this week, they were highlighted by The Baltimore Sun. Big thanks to writer Laura Cech and photographer Amy Davis – they both did a great job.
None of this would be happening if it not for the many friends who’ve helped me so much. First is Susannah Siger of Ma Petite Shoe. If she had not said, “Hey, you should sell these in the shop!” no one would be even talking about these delicious brownies. She is one of the most generous people I know and has done so much for Hampden. And Sean Flanigan, my friend who works on House of Cards – he suggested bringing them to the set and then they just kept ordering them. For the late night and early, early morning porch drop offs (and hair expertise), thank you, Sean. And, that Michael Kelly – I’ve joked with him that his tweet is “the tweet that will never die.” He’s the best and not at all like Doug Stamper, thank goodness!
Even with this week’s brownie news, I’m still doing my other jobs…writing for Baltimore Fishbowl and also working with my clients doing social media marketing and public relations consulting. I am loving the freedom of working for myself, even with its challenges and uncertainty. I get up every day excited for the day. Every day is different and I’m meeting the most amazing people. At some point I need to really look at the next step with my baking – if there is one – but for now, I’m working at all hours of the day and night and loving being so busy. I am thankful for it all and glad I took the leap three months ago!
Anyway, here is the article. Hope you’ll take the time to read it and share it if you’re so inspired.
